A Message from Dr. Bernard Kosto
As we emerge from the pandemic bubble into the world of coping with COVID-19 variants we march forward while staying safe, with programming, membership, and stewardship for our medical collections.
Our first event since March 2020 was the insightful and engaging talk with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel at the Bushnell. Two hundred members and guests enjoyed cocktails, hors d’ouevres, and a stimulating talk and Q & A. The takeaway message for me was the importance of collegiality in the world of physician wellness. Supporting HMS falls into this category.
I was also privileged to attend the long-delayed St. Francis Hospital luncheon for eight retired doctors, where I made a brief presentation urging support for HMS.
In the meantime, we will continue with virtual lectures, the movement of our books and artifacts to the Watkinson at Trinity, and our next in-person Annual Meeting at the Pond House in Elizabeth Park on September 13 with a prominent guest speaker.
